What Is Thanksgiving

What is Thanksgiving? Thanksgiving is a National holiday celebrated on different dates in the United States, Canada, Green land, Saint Lucia, and Liberia. It is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada and the fourth Thursday of November in the United States, and basically around the same time in different countries. It was also started as a day to give thanks for the blessing of the harvest and the coming year.

Story of the Week:

A Very Indian Thanksgiving

It all started when our cousins, came over. At first, it was pretty boring because we were just sitting around. Then came the big juicy feast. Now you might think I meant turkey, but that's not part of our Indian feast. Instead of turkey, we had a different assortment of food, ranging from pecan pie, banana bread, muffins, tiramisu, Kashmir fried rice, raita( a mixture with the base being yogurt ), noodles, pasta, and my favorite salad. After that, my cousins and I begged my brother to play with us, but he wanted to play a video game. After waiting for a long time, we finally got to play hide and seek with him! Sadly our cousins had to leave a few rounds in, bringing an end to our Very Indian Thanksgiving.

Sports:

Give Thanks To Football

Today on Thanksgiving, we still get to watch America's favorite sport, football! The teams playing today are the Bears, Lions, Raiders, Cowboys, Bills, and Saints. My favorite game is the Bills versus the Saints, two teams trying to stay in the playoff picture. Below are the results of the games:

Bears 16 Raiders 36 Bills 31

Bears win Raiders win Bills win

Lions 14 Cowboys 33 Saints 6
